#OlehProblems: Hebrew Names

I never thought it would be a problem when I moved here. But no one ever understands me when I tell them my name. For a while I thought my 'rrresh' was not guttural enough, but finally someone explained to me that  my name is a variant that no Israelis use. I am always called Arik or Aryeh, never Ari. #olehproblems

#OlehProblems: 3D Glasses

#OlehProblems: Arnona? More like Ar-NO-NO

I had to go and sort out my arnona, so I googled the building in order to find it easily. I woke up at 7am so I would be first in line. I went and the building wasnt there. I asked around, found out that it used to be there and then went to the new building. I got there, turns out I didnt have a form I needed. I went home and got it. I came back. I needed my roomates information too, so I said okay, i'll call them and fill it out. The lady says "no, they need to fill it in". I said: "what does it matter, either way i'm gonna step outside, call them and fill it in myself" Her response "okay, but don't come back to my desk after". I filled in the info, took a new number, annd then I got sent back to her desk. She then covered her ass by pretending I wasn't there two minutes ago and finished with me. Basically it took me four hours to do something that should have taken 5 minutes and had to pretend like i was never there. #olehproblems

#OlehProblems: Misrad al HaPnim

They refuse to give me a TZ even though I have been approved by every agency including Misrad Hapnim, simply because the lady behind the counter didn't like my proof of Judaism letter...resubmitted all the paperwork to Jerusalem, its been 3 weeks, still havent heard anything back...#MisradHapnim #olehproblems

#OlehProblems: Crossing the Street

I spent my spring break back home in Canada where the people are nice and considerate. I came back today and went grocery shopping. On my way home I crossed the street. The car coming towards me was pretty far away so I assumed he would stop... well he sped up and just went around me going very fast. It was scary. Drivers are the enemy, not terrorists. #olehproblems

#OlehProblems: Going Back to Israel

Don't get me wrong, I love living in Israel.. but theres just something really depressing about leaving a first world country and going back to Israel and to know that everything is going to be complicated, and that I will not see a real line up for the next year. #olehproblems

#OlehProblems: It's Something

I lived in Tel Aviv for a year and noticed that there are just shoes littered throughout the city so I thought I would be a 'true Israeli' and put my old hiking boots on the sidewalk.

A day later I passed where I placed my shoes and found them still sitting there, but missing their shoelaces...#olehproblems
